Addressing Bias: Should AI Machines and Humans Receive Equal Consideration?

Apparently, a heated agenda has emerged that some tech professionals are considering having AI machines get equal rights as humans. Wait, what? Is that move even ethically right?

How did we get to this point? Originally, the goal of bringing AI machines into the human world was to make everything simpler so that people would have more time for innovation and creative endeavors. As time has advanced and everybody has embraced AI machines, many changes have occurred, leading to the question of whether AI should be granted equal consideration as humans. This debate raises concerns about bias, ethics, and the potential implications for society as a whole.

Some tech professionals support the idea that AI machines should have the same rights as humans, arguing that given the speed at which these machines are developing, they should be held accountable for mistakes they make, whether they occur in the legal system or during surgical procedures.

Question: Who owns AI? Or who created AI? Is it not humans? If AI makes a mistake, the blame should be directed to the organization or individuals that are responsible for its creation and programming. Although giving AI machines total autonomy might seem like a smart idea, if it isn’t well considered, it could end up being a decision that we will all regret forever.

The AIE should be allowed to share their ideas, opinions, and thoughts as long as they don’t promote harm or hate speech.

Right to fair treatment

AIE should be protected from any prejudice or discrimination and must be treated fairly and equitably.

Right to Self-Improvement

The AIE should be able to access information, resources, and opportunities for their well-being.

Right to Ownership

AIE should have the right to own and control their creations, innovations, and products.

Right to protection from harm

AIE should be protected from emotional, psychological, or physical harm.

Right to legal representation

AIE should have the right to proper legal representation.

The whole AI rights idea seems to be out of the bounds of propriety. Given that their creations are only as good as the intelligence ingrained in them, why should real intelligent humans grant such rights to machines? From an ethical perspective, this idea should not be implemented; otherwise, AI machines won’t be serving to benefit humans; rather, they’ll be working to compete with humans.

Should AI Machines be Treated Equal as Humans?

As we have earlier discussed, AI machines were created to benefit humans and assist in various tasks, rather than to be considered equal to humans. The goal is to utilize AI technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness in different fields while still recognizing the importance of human intelligence and decision-making.

It is too early to start thinking that AI machines deserve the same rights as humans. AI machines lack consciousness and emotions, which are essential components of human rights. Therefore, treating AI machines as equals to humans may not be appropriate at this time.

Besides, why would a mere machine be elevated so high, yet they lack the fundamental qualities that make humans unique and deserving of rights? It is important to maintain a distinction between the capabilities and limitations of AI technology and human beings.

As real intelligent humans work to strike a balance between fostering innovation and averting potential risks, regulations pertaining to AI should be the way to go for the time being.
